About Patricia

Originally from Brooklyn, New York, family law attorney Patricia Sciarrino has been a long-time resident of the Treasure Coast. She opened her law office in 1992 and limits her practice to helping others in Martin, Saint Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee counties with family law problems. Patricia represents clients residing in Stuart, Palm City, Hobe Sound, Jensen Beach, Port Saint Lucie, Fort Pierce, and Okeechobee. She is well-known for her direct style and straightforward approach while representing her clients.

Patricia has represented hundreds of clients and has years of experience counseling others about divorce, paternity, time-sharing, parenting plans, child support, child custody, alimony/spousal support, parental responsibility, modifications, enforcement, prenuptial agreements, and other areas of family law. Many of her clients are referrals from other clients and colleagues. Patricia is an effective attorney who will evaluate your case realistically and caution you about the costs and risks of prolonged litigation and trials. She will explain to you the strengths and weaknesses of your case. Patricia counsels clients to consider compromise, focus on facts and figures, and ignore the poor behavior of the other spouse or parent. Patricia uses fairness, integrity, and civility to deflect and de-escalate antagonistic behavior of opposing counsel. Patricia seeks to avoid a client incurring excessive legal fees due to offensive tactics or responses.

Patricia offers limited representation and unbundled legal services to help meet the diverse needs of clients. She promotes problem-solving by attending settlement conferences and mediations in order to avoid expensive litigation. Patricia also practices collaborative law, which is another dispute resolution method and alternative to traditional litigation. Through a series of meetings, you and Patricia, along with your spouse and his/her attorney (and other neutral professionals, if any) will help guide you and your spouse in reaching a resolution that is custom designed to meet the unique needs of you and your family. Regardless of the method you use, Patricia’s emphasis on extensive preparation throughout your case will be effective in helping achieve a favorable outcome in your dispute.
